Dhanashree and Rajendra organised a musical evening in memory of the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi at Mysore Auditorium in Matunga, Mumbai on Sunday July 17th. The event was named after one of the hit song of Rafi Sahab, “ Tere Naam ka Deewana.”
This month marks the 42nd death anniversary of the great singer. Born on Dec 24, 1924; Rafi Sahab had the left the world on July 31, 1980.
The event saw performances from 24 singers including the organisers and the host Savita too. All the singers sung the melodies from Rafi Sahab and late Lata Mangeshkar.
The event title song ,”Tere Naam Ka Deewana” was sung by Rajendra post inaugurating the event in a traditional Indian style.
The singers who participated were :
Dhanashree, Rajendra, Baby Shreya, Vrishali, Rasika, Neha, Fiza, Rekha, Pratibha, Ujwala, Prachi, karekar, Shailesh, Dinesh, Shekhar, Soli, Kadam, Paresh, Pooja, Geeta, Mahadevan, Tony, Prafhul and Savita.
Baby Shreya and Vrishali are two young and differently abled singers but blessed with tremendous voice. The evening saw an all round appreciation from the audience for every singer present.
