Deepika Suthar is a management student from Mumbai whose first date with paint brush started while she was three and then there was no looking back.

Exhibiting at Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai is a dream for almost every artist. The 22-year-old artist exhibited at Jehangir this year showcasing her sketches and others art works created using acrylic on canvas.

With numerous detailed and delicate lines drawn layer by layer she elaborates her observations right from the time she was a kid and till she turned an adult.

Unveiling our rendezvous with Deepika Suthar

A. How many years you have been in the field of art and why?

Art has always been a way for me to free myself and differentiate myself from the mundane. I was three when I first held the paint brush and have continued art ever since as a passion.

B. What media you have been using so far?

Sketching allows me to capture the roughness of every moment I come across instantly. Acrylic allows me to be fast paced. Hence, I have been using these two mediums so far.

C. What media you are planning to explore in future?

However, starting this year, I intend to explore Oil as a medium and learn to appreciate the tranquility and patience of painting with the same.

D. What kind of uniqueness you spotlight using art?

My art in a recent exhibition portrayed the minute details I've been observing over the years as a Kid, as an Adult. I intend to capture the everyday essence of our lives that we miss and put that in a form for others to see.
