Dr Ruta is a Scientist by education, Educationist by profession and Artist at heart.
Nature inspires her art. She keenly observes the patterns, spontaneity and rhythms of nature. Through her work, oils on canvas, she intends to capture emotions and beauty of nature.
Since childhood,she was inclined to art. However being meritorious student, she did her PhD in zoology. Conducted own classes for Medical Entrance Examination. And also has family to take care of. After retirement, she explored field of Arts
She discovered joy of working on Canvas with Oils after retirement.. Now she is in this field for almost ten years. She had recently participated in the India Art Fair at Mumbai and a few a private exhibitions in the current year.

Unveiling our rendezvous with Dr Ruta Inamdar
A. How many years you have been in the field of art and why?
Since childhood, I was inclined to art. I used to make very beautiful Rangolis and always get prize. In college days I made some beautiful oil paintings. I entered field of art after retirement and when my son Rahul opened his art studio. I am enjoying working on canvas for almost ten years.
B. What media you have been using so far?
I enjoy working on Canvas with Oils. I use top end materials. I use linen canvas. The weave of this is tighter and canvas is quite smooth as compared to cotton canvas. I use imported oil colours. These colours have freshness, intensity, transparency and musicality. Vibrant colours bring in a gush of energy in my paintings.
C. What media you are planning to explore in future?
I am planning to explore fluid art, which when mastered give beautiful, unpredictable patterns. I would also like to explore ceramic art for textures and resin art for transparency.
D. What kind of uniqueness you spot light using art?
Painting is like meditation to me. Its a very special experience that cannot be described in words. My heart is full of happiness while painting, which translates in my work. All my works are beautiful and happy. When put on wall, they radiate positivity.
