India’s Jeremy Lalrinnunga Wins Gold In Weightlifting : CWG 2022. India At 6th Position

India gets its second gold medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 with the Star weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga winning in men's 67kg weightlifting.


With this India’s medal tally stands at 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze, taking India’s overall position at 6th in the Global Event.


He has set a new Games Record of 300kg combined lift. Meanwhile, India's Tania Choudury has taken a lead in her women's singles lawn bowls round 5 match vs Shauna O'Neill of Northern Ireland. Yogeshwar Singh has also started competing at the men's all-around gymnastics final. Later in the day, India will also be seen playing against Pakistan in the women's cricket fixture at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Both India and Pakistan lost their respective opening Group A matches, and they are in desperate need of a win. The third day would also see events like cycling, boxing, swimming and badminton take centre stage. On Day 2, India won four medals with weightlifter Mirabai Chanu winning gold. The contingent would now hope to backup Day 2 with good performances on Day 3.
