Unveiling our conversation with the Motivator herself.
Q: What do you like the most, spiritual singing or motivational preaching more?
Jaya Kishori: Both have their own importance. For me music is the best form of therapy, especially spiritual music. The balance in life is created by spiritual music and motivational preaching is phenomenal.
Q: What do you plan as a career ahead?
Jaya Kishori: To be honest I had never realised how or when I chose the path of being a public speaker who talks about spirituality and motivation. I believe everything just fell into the right place. Once I realised my responsibilities in relation to being a spiritual and motivational speaker, there was no looking back. I have been on a constant quest to grow in this field while helping the people around me by sharing it with them. A career where I share my life experiences with everyone. For the future I am prepared to acquire more knowledge in relation to various topics that will help me grow spiritually.
Q: Any plans for mainstream singing?
Jaya Kishori: Haha, I have been asked this question a lot of times. I do not consider myself as a singer because I do not give the required amount of time for practice or riyaz that a singer should. I would say I am a music enthusiast and the love for it makes me feel calm as it's a great source of positivity and peace. My music is more of a part of my spiritual sessions than mainstream singing.
Q: Of the many awards you have received, which one is more memorable?
Jaya Kishori: All awards have a special place in my heart. It is an honour to be appreciated with all the love and support. My most memorable award has to be the first award that I received from Bhartiya Chhatra Sansad, the ‘Youth Spiritual Icon’ Award.
Q: What has been the most challenging moment in your life?
Jaya Kishori: Currently I’m a full time motivational speaker and spiritual orator but at the beginning of my career, at the age of 7, I had to manage my primary school and later high school studies with my work, as I was performing at various places all over India. The experience was amazing but maintaining a balance between the two was extremely challenging for me as I had to study about two different fields and travel on a regular basis for the shows.
Q: What is your advice for the young generation of today?
Jaya Kishori: My advice to the younger generation is to channelise their inner spirituality. I believe most of us are unaware of the great possibilities of mental elevation and calmness spirituality can bring in our personal as well as professional life. Spirituality possesses great powers once acknowledged, it can do wonders in our lives and help us in
