Jayita is an engineer in Computer Science and MBA in International Business. She has worked in an Indian PSU under the Ministry of Commerce for 8+ years. Although she enjoyed her professional work life, she was looking for solitude within. The universe responded to her by providing her a canvas board, pencil, colours and brushes. With each painting, she created a deeper and deeper connection with her inner soul. Art The journey of Soul Discovery has been extremely enlightening which helped her find the purpose of her life. It strengthened her vision and helped her take action towards fulfilling her mission.

Jayita loves to experiment with a variety of textures. She uses texture to add depth, 3D effects and balance to different areas of her artwork. Preparing the surface of the canvas holds the utmost importance in her painting process. This may take 2-3 days’ time adding one layer on top of the other layer to increase the depth of the canvas. She works with many unique tools (like leaves, biscuit carton box, sponge, palette knives, plastic wrapper, spoon, kids’ toy etc) readily available with her. She believes that a textured surface instigates emotions when touched!!

She believes colours define the liveliness of the world which resonates with the human soul. Hence, her deep love for colours. She loves to capture mother nature and various women's emotions in Abstract realism style in most of her paintings.
Unveiling our rendezvous with Jayita Dana
A. How many years you have been in the field of art and why?
Art has always been my first love since childhood and mathematics being my second love. I chose to take the academic path but always been the creative head in my college. After securing professional goals, I started my art journey diligently in the year 2014.For the last 3 years I have been exhibiting my artwork. I have received wonderful feedback from art lovers which has motivated me to quit my corporate life and become a professional artist.
B. What media you have been using so far?
I mostly work with a combination of charcoal, alcohol ink and acrylic paint.
C. What media you are planning to explore in the future?
I would love to use soft pastel in my painting.
D. What kind of uniqueness you spotlight using art?
There is always a story behind each of my artworks which gets expressed through the eyes of my portrait woman. The vibrant colours create a magic in the atmosphere. The textures when touched creates an instant connection with the soul. Hence, the colour, the right texture and the woman's eye expression makes my artwork unique.
