Informing Bombay High Court, The Maharashtra government stated that it has withdrawn an order issued by sub-divisional officer of coastal zone management committee to demolish parts of the residence of Union minister Narayan Rane in Juhu.

The BJP MP, Narayan Rane had last week moved to the high court seeking quashing of the notices issued to him and his family by the BMC over the alleged unauthorised alterations made in his bungalow in suburban Juhu.

The minister had sought to quash the notices (February 25, March 4 and March 16, 2022) issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the orders passed by the designated officer of the corporation, terming it as "perverse, illegal and in violation of his fundamental rights".

The state government told a bench of Justices Amjad Sayed and Abhay Ahuja that it had withdrawn the order and authorities will consider Rane's application for regularisation of the alleged irregularities in his bungalow before taking any action.
