Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd, a prominent player in the media and entertainment sector, has designated Manisha Dey as the leader of the devotional and music category.
Dey brings a wealth of experience with her, spanning over 25 years in the media and entertainment domain. She has overseen content and collaborations at Gaana, an audio streaming service, where she played a pivotal role in introducing flagship properties like 'Gaana Originals' and 'Gaana Film Exclusives.' Prior to her tenure at Gaana, Dey managed content portfolios at prominent music labels including Saregama-HMV, Tips Music & Films, Music-Today, Milestone-EMI, and more. She also held the position of national content head for value-added services (VAS) at IDEA Cellular.
Arpit Mankar, head of non-Bollywood category at Shemaroo Entertainment, expressed his warm welcome to Manisha Dey, highlighting her extensive experience and accomplishments across various aspects of the music and entertainment industry, particularly in the realm of devotional content. Mankar stated that her expertise would be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of their devotional and music landscape.
In her new role, Dey will be reporting to both Mankar and Mohan Gopinath, the business head for Bollywood at Shemaroo.
Expressing her excitement, Dey shared her enthusiasm for joining Shemaroo Entertainment and leading the devotional and music category. She emphasized her dedication to creating content that deeply resonates with the audience, drawing from her experience in the music industry and her passion for diverse music genres.
Shemaroo had previously introduced two executives to its leadership team earlier in the year. Mankar was appointed as the head of the non-Bollywood category, while Abhishek Joshi was named the head of ShemarooMe, the company's OTT platform. In 2020, the company launched a pay-per-movie service accessible through ShemarooMe Box Office. Movie tickets can be purchased on ShemarooMe, the official website, and BookMyShow, an online ticketing platform.
