
Sourav Basu is an artist blessed indispensable creativity and uniqueness. Though he began his journey with acrylic on canvas he later moved on experimenting and designing wooden mask. His art and passion for creating wooden is not just unique in it self but it has fetched him ample of popularity across PAN India.

With over 35 years of experience Sourav has pursued his graduation in Fine Arts (painting) in the year 1987 and later he accomplished Art Appreciation from Calcutta University in the year 1988.

For over 20 years he has been creating these wooden mask and has held several group and solo exhibitions in Kolkatta and other cities. He was part of Kala Mela organised by Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi and recently was even part of India Art Festival 2022, Mumbai. He has held many workshop with children and thought them to create paper masks. His art works are widely collected people from India and abroad

B. What media you have been using so far?
Creating wooden mask with metal inlay.
C. What media you are planning to explore in the future?
I will continue doing this media and create wood and metal sculpture.
