
Subrata has pursued Bachelor of Visual Arts from Government College of Art & Crafts, Agartala. And then to add to his qualification skill set he pursued Master of Fine Arts in Painting (Mural) from Shantniketan Kalabhavan University. He adds uniqueness to his art work thorough use of Plant fiber & mixed media on raw canvas.

Subrata has over 23 years of experience as an exhibitor and has been exhibiting at variety of well known exhibition like the Government Colledge of arts & Craft (Agartala), Chemold Art Gallery, ICCR Kolkata, India Art Festival in Delhi and Mumbai.

He has received various awards and recognitions through out his career the prominent of them were Merit Scholarship from Kalabhavan Shantiniketan and 1 prize in exhibition at "Aranya" Kolkata.

A. How many years you have been in the field of art and why?
Last 27 years I have been in the field of Art. Because it's best medium to know myself, where I can put my concept, Imagination, easily. My work is the answer of all inner thought like my own social responsibility, Raw sensation of our folklore with primitivity which replaces as pictorial language in the perspective of contemporary days.
B. What media you have been using so far?
When we study at college & University those days we practiced all medium of Visual art like Oil, wash,Guash, linocut, lithography, ceriography, etching, terracotta, wood, Egg Tempera, etc. But nowadays I am feeling to comfort to practice with my own medium Like, thrown Plants fiber on raw Canvas.
C. What media you are planning to explore in the future?
In future I want work Thrown Plants fiber on Canvas because the making plants fiber as colour texture medium it's a process. It's pleasure for me
