Sumitra Ahlawat has attained self-esteem and self-realisation through art. Sumitra is a qualified artist with 5 years of diploma in Fine Arts from the Government School of Arts in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. She has been a Fellowship holder at the same Government School of Art Aurangabad
She had the honour of working as an artist with various reputed government organisations like the Delhi Doordarshan Kendra, Upgrah Doordarshan Kendra, Delhi Traffic Police, NCERT Delhi, SCERT Delhi, Hindustan Times and Frank Brother publications.
She has been an exhibitor at lots of prominent places such as India Art Festival, National Gallery of Morden Art Delhi, Shimla Art Festival, Jawahar Kala Kendra Jaipur and many more. She quotes art as ‘Sanjeevani’ for her.

A. How many years you have been in the field of art and why?
I have been in the field of art since 42 years.
Art is my PASSION and has always been my AIM of life. The positivity that I get by doing this is just amazing.
Art is संजीवनी for me !
B. What media you have been using so far?
I have used Oil on Canvas, water colour and Pen Pencil as mediums so far.
C. What media you are planning to explore in the future?
I plan to use something different like CHARCOAL, ACRYLIC etc. I also tend to use oil colours, pen and pencil and water color on paper as I have been using till now.
D. What kind of uniqueness you spotlight using your art?
I see beauty and a kind of self happiness in my paintings. The delicacy and uniqueness of the JEWELLERY that I include in almost every kind of my artwork is my speciality. I tend to do figurative work. I enhance the piece of artwork my the EYES of the figure that I make. My signature work of art is the black and white work and that little piece of yellow and red color on it. IN MY POINT OF VIEW, THE SUCCESS OF ART IS TO CAPTIVATE THE VIEWERS !!!
